After Year Zero – Geographies of Collaboration

This summer I have been enjoying my internship at the Department of Visual Arts and Film at Haus der Kulturen der Welt, assisting the exhibition After Year Zero – Geographies of Collaboration and its two conferences.

After Year Zero ”focuses on the intertwining of European and African history in the process of decolonization. At its center are art installations and films by John Akomfrah, The Otolith Group, Kader Attia, Yervant Gianikian & Angela Ricci Lucchi, and Jihan El-Tahri, representatives of the re-examination of the Western modern age and the values it posited as universal.”

Curated by Anselm Franke and Annett Busch in collaboration with the participating artists.

September 19th – November 24th at Haus der Kulturen der Welt, Berlin.
